2003-2004 Season (Junior): Made a huge leap in the 800 during the outdoor season, dropping his career best by more than two seconds... Capped off the season with a 1:51.32 at the NCAA Division II Championships for a tenth-place finish... Had a sixth place finish in the 500 at the North Central Conference indoor meet after running a 1:06.69... 2002-2003 Season (Sophomore): Helped the Bison to a national third-place finish in the 1,600-meter relay (3:12.96) and a third-place NCC showing in the 3,200-meter relay (7:52.16)... During the outdoor season, ran the third leg of NDSU’s runner-up 1,600 relay team that recorded a 3:09.80... 2001-2002 Season (Freshman): Competed only during the indoor season... Finished third at the NCC indoor championships in the 500-meter dash with a 1:04.63 clocking... Ran the second leg on the NCC champion 1,600-meter relay team that turned in a 3:16.70 and ran the leadoff leg on that same unit that went 3:14.81 for fifth in the nation... High School: Four year letterman at Bismarck (N.D.) High School... Set the school record in the 400-meter dash... Part of school record 800-meter relay and state meet record 1,600-meter relay... Prep bests of 48.24 for the 400 and 1:55.77 in the 800... Also played soccer and basketball... High school coach was Darrell Anderson... Personal: Son of Thomas and Dorleen Wolbaum... Has one brother, Derrick, and one sister, Kayla... Majoring in Spanish and chemistry.
